《Family Strife》
The era brings miracles, stability to the nation, and a promising future for the people. With various industries thriving, the populace begins to engage in bustling activities. Whether it's scholars, farmers, workers, or merchants, post-war life requires the involvement of all.
Ajun sought a way out as well, transitioning into the intermediary business of poultry. He borrowed money from his uncle to purchase a Japanese-imported bicycle, traveling to nearby villages to buy chickens, ducks, and geese from local farmers, capitalizing on price differentials. Utilizing coal-fired trains equipped with bamboo baskets, he transports his goods from Tongxiao Town to Taipei, the bustling hub of Taiwan Province, a journey spanning approximately 4 hours.
With children and increased income, the bond between Ajun and Ahua strengthens. More importantly, without the emotional blackmail and heavy agricultural work of extended family, time was no longer monopolized, allowing them to rediscover each other.
Business gradually thrived, with their children becoming a shared goal. The path out of poverty in this generation often hinges on career choices.
After the liberation of Taiwan, the development of the mechanical industry flourished, creating machinery and automobiles. Ajun borrowed money again to purchase a stylish and efficient Kawasaki motorcycle, saving time and effort. This proved beneficial, earning him newfound respect from his parents.
Having a family changed everything; it was a new beginning.
Ahua also began learning to weave mats with neighbors, observing the vibrant activities around her.
The government worked tirelessly to expand territories, prioritizing policies that benefited the people, resulting in a peaceful atmosphere. Despite martial law, for simple folks, the aspiration was just to live peacefully and prosperously.
With two daughters and two sons, Ajun earned a substantial amount of money. He bought land and built his own house in 1973, finally having a home that was entirely his.
Ajun often said, "Fate determines one's destiny: those born into prosperity can't enter poverty, and those born poor can't enter wealth." Perhaps Ahua was destined for an unfortunate fate.
In agrarian society, being a merchant was a remarkable skill. Ajun wasn't defeated by fate; instead, he remained optimistic and enterprising. With a sweet tongue and strong learning abilities, he worked tirelessly every day, aiming to earn more money.
However, Ahua focused her attention on her husband, becoming increasingly worried about him having affairs outside the home, her mind preoccupied with suspicion. Whenever she saw Ajun chatting with neighbors or helping others, she would interrogate him relentlessly until everything was clear, stirring up gossip and rumors among neighbors.
It's evident that their arguments increased in frequency, with talks of cold wars and divorce looming.
Ahua used their children as bargaining chips, while Ajun repeatedly compromised.
《家庭矛盾》
時代創造奇蹟，國家安定，百姓才有未來。百業興起，人民開始忙碌。士、農、工、商，戰後一切開始，缺一不可。
阿俊也謀了出路，轉做雞鴨仲介。跟自己大伯借錢，買一部日本進口鐵馬腳踏車，四處到鄰近莊稼人收買生養雞、鴨、鵝，賺取中間差價。再以燃煤火車裝上竹簍，從通霄鎮運送至台北。台北是台灣省都會區，耗程約 4 小時。
有了孩子跟增加收入，阿俊跟阿花感情也加溫。最重要是沒旁親的情緒勒索及繁重農事，時間也沒被剝奪，就像重新認識雙方。
生意也日漸有生機，孩子是共同目標。脫貧在這一代，往往取決就業路線。
台灣光復後發展機械工業創造機、汽車。阿俊又借錢，買一台川崎新東陽機車，是拉風，也揚眉吐氣。省時省力，真的是助益，也給了自己父母另眼相看。
有了家就是不一樣，開枝散葉原來是這樣。
阿花也開始跟鄰居學習編草蓆，環顧周遭，各個活力旺盛。
政府努力開疆闢土，政策優民，一片祥和。雖處於戒嚴，對於簡單百姓來說，只求安居樂業。
阿俊已然 2 女 2 男嘞，也掙不少錢。買地自建，1973 年阿俊才有個完完全全屬於自己的家。
唉！一命、二運、三風水。阿俊常說一句話「好命格，進不了窮人家；窮人命，進不了富人家。」阿花可能就是命運註定不好。
在農業社會裡，從商是件很厲害的本事。阿俊沒被命運打倒，反而樂觀進取。嘴巴甜，學習能力強。每天早出晚歸，一心想多賺點錢。
阿花卻把重心放在老公身上。反倒開始擔心老公外面有女人，心思不在自己。每天疑神疑鬼。只要見到阿俊跟鄰居聊天，或幫個小忙，鐵定打破砂鍋問到底，不弄個明白不放人。惹得左鄰右舍，是是非非，小耳小語。
顯而易見爭吵次數就多。冷戰、離婚掛口邊。
阿花就拿孩子當籌碼，阿俊妥協次數一次又一次。
