Daily life lost its routine, bringing disasters, and the whole society was filled with hostility and darkness. Unable to see the bright side, it left people discouraged. Even with vaccines, there remained a sense of distrust.
Perhaps having lived long enough, Lillian's mother insisted on getting vaccinated, sparking arguments with Lillian. She had priority for vaccination rights. Caught in a dilemma, they could only resign to fate and gamble on luck.
A dying person's words carry weight. It seemed Lillian's mother knew her time was short, speaking with emotion. Grateful for Lillian's companionship and attentive care, she urged Lillian to prioritize herself and prepare for the future.
As the saying goes, a single injection took Lillian's mother away, ending a life of struggling to survive.
The pandemic took the elderly, weak, and disabled, washed away the wealth of entrepreneurs, and toppled those with ambitious visions. Natural and man-made disasters abroad left many lonely and helpless.
Standing high and looking far, busy throughout life. Lillian, settled in a high-rise in Taipei, found motivation years ago because of her son's aspirations, acquiring this luxurious home. Yet her longing to provide Smith with a home led to her suffering.
Reflecting on the past, Her mother's death turned out to be so free-spirited.
Her bond with Smith faded due to "that child's" circumstances.
A life stung by "that child," yet facing it with equanimity upon his passing. Lillian decided to find a suitable nursing home for her remaining years. Selling her mansion, she no longer rushed for anyone.

日常生活失去規律，帶來災難，整個社會戾氣灰黑。見不到光明面，而讓人氣餒。有了疫苗，也給人不信任感。
也許是活夠了，母親為了堅決施打疫苗，和林立蓮在爭吵。母親有優先施打權利。為難之下，也只能聽天由命，賭運氣。
人之將死，其言也善。林立蓮的母親好像知道自己沒多少日子了，言語中帶感性。有林立蓮一路陪伴、悉心照料而感恩，也要女兒多為自己著想，為未來做準備。
一語成讖，這一針帶走母親，結束半生苟延殘喘而好走。
疫情帶走老弱傷殘，沖洗創業者財富，打倒雄心抱負有遠景之人。國際間天災人禍，孤獨而無助，比比皆是。
站立高處遠眺，忙忙碌碌於一生。座落於台北市的高樓，當年林立蓮因為兒子設想，才有了動力，擁有這一豪宅。也因嚮往給史密斯一個家而獨闖，弄得遍體鱗傷。
回顧過往今來，母親罹世竟是如此灑脫。
與史密斯的情分，也因 “那孩子” 的情況而淡薄。
一生被 “那孩子” 螫傷，因其離世而豁達。林立蓮決定尋找合適安養院過餘生。賣掉豪宅，不再為誰奔波。
