I dreamed that we were organizing an event to teach children how to appreciate and support the elderly. I was involved in designing the event.
Sister Joyce suggested that we find out which state or city the children come from. Then, we could print a brief introduction about that state or city and distribute it to the children, so they could read it and then introduce their hometown and its features on stage.
I think this activity is quite good. On one hand, we provide materials for the children to read, allowing them to learn about their hometown and its characteristics. On the other hand, it also gives them the opportunity to practice public speaking.
Regarding the part of the activity focused on supporting the elderly, we planned to have the children serve the elderly, such as by giving them massages or washing their feet.
There happened to be an elderly person present. We demonstrated lifting the elderly person to sit by the sink. Initially, we wanted to show how to massage and wash his feet, but the elderly person almost slipped off. We realized it was too dangerous. Additionally, lifting the elderly person onto the sink could potentially injure us. So, we adjusted the plan and placed a small chair next to the sink for the elderly person to sit on. This way, the children could serve him more safely. After the adjustment, I thought this idea was quite good.
Later, I went to make a salad and heard the organizer talking about his story, which seemed related to "asking the gods" for guidance. Unexpectedly, Wang Weizhong publicly stated in the newspaper that he wanted to write a letter to this organizer, saying he would share his experiences of living in a military dependents' village as a child. The organizer said he didn't expect that his casual writing would elicit a personal response from Wang Weizhong, and he felt quite honored.
While making the salad and grating baby corn, I listened to them talk. Then, I thought to myself, "This baby corn, prepared this way, should taste pretty good."
Ending 1: Successful Event and Gratitude
After making the salad and listening to the organizer's story, the event proceeds smoothly. The children successfully introduce their hometowns, and their presentations are well-received. The elderly participants express heartfelt gratitude for the children's service, and everyone feels a deep sense of connection and fulfillment. The event concludes with a joyful celebration, where both young and old share their experiences and enjoy a meal together.
Ending 2: Unexpected Guest and Surprise Recognition
While preparing the salad, a well-known public figure (other than Wang Weizhong) unexpectedly arrives at the event. This guest, inspired by the theme of the event, shares their own touching story about supporting the elderly. The presence of this guest energizes the participants and draws media attention, further highlighting the importance of the cause. The event garners widespread recognition, leading to more community support and future events focused on intergenerational bonding.
Ending 3: A Heartfelt Reunion
As the event progresses, one of the elderly participants recognizes a long-lost friend among the organizers or guests. This reunion brings a wave of emotions, and their story of reconnecting after many years becomes the highlight of the event. The children witness this heartfelt moment, reinforcing the theme of cherishing and supporting the elderly. The reunion inspires everyone present to reach out to their own loved ones and strengthens the sense of community.
Ending 4: A Lesson in Resilience
After the initial hiccup with the elderly person almost slipping, the children take the initiative to come up with their own creative solutions to ensure everyone's safety. Their proactive approach impresses the adults and demonstrates their growing sense of responsibility and empathy. The event becomes a learning experience for both children and adults, showcasing the importance of resilience and teamwork in overcoming challenges.
Ending 5: A Personal Revelation
As the dream progresses, you find yourself deeply moved by the stories and interactions at the event. This inspires you to reflect on your own relationships with elders in your life. You decide to take concrete steps to show appreciation and support for them. The dream concludes with a powerful sense of resolve and a plan to implement similar initiatives in your community, ensuring the spirit of gratitude and support for the elderly continues to grow.
