I dreamed that the city government in the U.S. came to our house and re-zoned our property, giving us a long, narrow strip of land.
In front of the house is a roundabout, and being assigned this strip made our entrance and exit very narrow and inconvenient.
I asked my husband, "Do we have any other options?" He shook his head and said, "This is the land we've been given." It seems we have no choice but to accept it for now and figure out how to use it later.
I stood at the corner, watching the city's construction vehicles start their work. When I returned to our entrance, I saw my husband sitting by the roadside, eating fruit and cucumbers while keeping an eye on the construction.
I told my husband, "You're eating like a squirrel!" Then I remembered I hadn't had lunch yet, so I went inside.
While eating lunch, I kept thinking, "Even though we got a subsidy for this strip of land, it doesn't seem very useful." I continued to ponder, "How are we going to use this piece of land?"
Ending 1: Discovering a Hidden Opportunity
As I stood at the entrance, still pondering how to use the land, I noticed a group of city planners approaching. They informed us that the narrow strip of land had a hidden potential – it was designated for a future greenway project, which would increase the value of our property and provide a beautiful, landscaped pathway for the community. Excited by this new prospect, my husband and I started planning a small garden and seating area to integrate our home with the greenway.
Ending 2: Finding a Creative Solution
I continued to worry about the narrow entrance and the impractical strip of land, but my husband had an idea. He suggested we could use the strip for a unique vertical garden and a small playground for our kids. We worked together to design and build it, transforming the once inconvenient space into a vibrant, useful area that became the envy of the neighborhood.
Ending 3: Receiving Community Support
As I finished lunch and continued to ponder the land's use, I heard a knock on the door. Our neighbors had come together to discuss the re-zoning issue, as many of them were affected too. We formed a community group to address our concerns with the city government. Through our collective efforts, we managed to negotiate a redesign of the zoning plan that provided more practical space for all of us, creating a more harmonious neighborhood layout.
Ending 4: Embracing the Change
Instead of feeling limited by the new land, I decided to embrace the change. I enrolled in a landscape design course and began sketching out ideas for a beautiful, functional garden and outdoor living space. The more I learned and planned, the more excited I became about the possibilities. Eventually, our home became a showcase of innovative design, blending seamlessly with the new zoning plan.
Ending 5: Discovering a Past Connection
After lunch, I decided to take a closer look at the strip of land. To my surprise, I found an old, weathered sign partially buried under the soil, indicating that the land once belonged to a historical site. Intrigued, I researched its history and discovered that it was part of a significant local landmark. We decided to restore it and open it to the public, turning our home into a place of historical interest and pride for the community.
