I dreamt that I was traveling with a group of my middle school classmates.
We were riding in a floating vehicle. Along the way, we passed by many small temples built in the middle of the road. These temples were elevated on stone foundations and were the kind typically worshipped by the public.
I remember seeing a wooden Buddha statue that wasn’t housed in a temple. I thought to myself that this seemed like a custom from another country, not something typical in Taiwan. I was curious about why it was there.
I encountered a few nuns who asked me where I was going. I replied, "Don’t worry, I know the direction I’m heading."
My classmates and I continued riding in the floating vehicle. We saw many sights and passed by numerous temples, even going under a bridge.
Near the end of the road, I remembered we had to turn right, where I saw a larger temple. It was shaped like a bridge, but I knew this wasn’t our destination.
We kept moving forward, knowing there was a fork in the road ahead, and the temple we were heading to was just before that fork.
At the temple, there was a place offering vegetarian food. I saw porridge and side dishes, including bean dates and vegetarian bacon. I scooped some porridge and picked some side dishes, then headed to the backyard.
I passed by a theater and looked inside. It resembled an auditorium with red fabric seats (not velvet). I planned to return later since I had a meeting to attend in the back hall.
Then, I found myself in a classroom, eating the bowl of porridge. My middle school teacher, Mr. Xie, asked everyone about their memories of attending classes there. My classmates happily shared their recollections.
The teacher mentioned a particularly opinionated and mischievous student and approached me for my thoughts. I said, "It was fine! I actually learned a lot here." The teacher continued, "Didn't you feel unhappy here?" I replied, "As I grew older, I appreciated the learning I got here and would come back again."
The teacher seemed satisfied with my answer, and my classmates applauded.
Back in the meeting hall, I met my competitor. He came over to chat and even gave me feedback on how I could improve in certain areas. I was quite surprised that he was willing to give me such feedback.
While relaxing outside, I saw him with his family, preparing to enter the theater. I overheard him telling his family that this place was quite nice.
I realized he was actually a good person. Although he was my competitor, he seemed to appreciate me enough to offer constructive feedback.
