This dream was quite long.
I dreamt I was taking the bus to work. When the bus arrived, I saw two older women running towards it, so I ran too. Just as they were almost there, the bus suddenly drove off. I thought that was so rude since we were so close!
Another bus came soon after, but it stopped only briefly before taking off again. I was frustrated with these drivers and wanted to report them; they should have waited for us!
Eventually, another bus arrived, but it wasn’t the one I needed. Then finally, the right bus showed up, and I got on.
Outside, it turned into a stormy downpour, almost like a typhoon. I thought, “Wow, it’s really pouring!” Inside, I noticed a single plastic stool in the standing area, which felt a bit odd. I went over to sit, feeling somewhat awkward, and folded up my umbrella.
The bus then reached the intersection at Dunhua North Road and Nanjing East Road, near the Breeze Center, and stopped for a red light. I thought, “My office is nearby!” Just then, someone asked the driver if they could get off, so I quickly followed, figuring I could save a part of my fare by walking one stop.
I walked through the storm, passing many fallen trees. At the office, I found a bag on my desk. I thought, “This wasn’t here when I left yesterday!”
I opened it to find someone had left me a bag of documents, some stationery, and a fat French baguette, which I started eating.
The company’s “green tea girl” (someone who pretends to be nice but isn’t) was the new assistant. She looked a bit like the new assistant in *Emily in Paris*. I was assigned to train her, but she had that “green tea” attitude, so I didn’t want to teach her too much.
As I ate my baguette, I noticed she had one too, a long, thin one. She mentioned that a colleague had made too many baguettes and brought them for everyone. Anyway, my thick baguette was pretty good.
The company was offering a trip across 22 European countries as a sales reward, and I qualified, so I was thrilled. The secretary in the Singapore office was handling our visas. Everyone else got express visas, but for some reason, only I and two others received regular visas. I thought, “I need to contact the Singapore secretary to speed this up, or I’ll have to use regular lines for all 22 countries!”
In the office, I needed to use the restroom, so I went to a small room where several colleagues sat in a cramped arrangement. Inside was a small office with a restroom. I squeezed through a gap to get in.
The restroom was on a raised platform, but when I went in, I realized it was only semi-private, with half-height walls around the toilet. I thought, “Anyone can see who’s using it!” I almost decided not to use it, but a colleague said, “It’s fine, go ahead!”
The toilet was stainless steel, and as soon as I sat down, it started tilting and spinning in all directions.
I thought, “This is so embarrassing!” I tried to cover my face with my hands, but for some reason, I had a bar of soap in one hand, which made it hard to shield my face.
After I was done, I dropped the soap, which slid onto the floor and out of the room. I kept trying to pick it up, but it kept slipping away, which was so embarrassing!
Back at my desk, I noticed an Indian woman sitting nearby, dressed in a business suit. She was part of our small team and joined us for a video call with the Singapore secretary. She left a strong impression on me.
Ending 1: The Bus of Support
As you struggle with the bar of soap slipping out of reach, a colleague enters the restroom and hands you a towel, saying, “We’ve all had that experience here.” You laugh together, the tension easing as you feel seen and supported. Afterward, you return to your desk to find an email from the Singapore secretary, letting you know that your express visa has been approved after all. The final part of the dream is a quiet scene of the office—calm after the storm—with colleagues working harmoniously around you.
Theme: Supportive environment, overcoming frustrations through community.
Ending 2: The Missing Bus Driver
You finally manage to grab the soap and head back to your desk, but you notice something strange: the new assistant has vanished, along with several colleagues. Suddenly, the bus driver from earlier walks into the office, handing you a slip of paper that reads, “Your journey is about to begin.” Confused but intrigued, you take the slip, and the dream ends as you step out of the office and onto a bus waiting outside, which takes you somewhere unknown.
Theme: New beginnings, mystery, and adventure beyond work boundaries.
Ending 3: A Storm-Calmed Landscape
Back at your desk, the rainstorm outside has turned into a soft, gentle drizzle, and sunlight starts streaming in through the windows. You look around and realize the “green tea” assistant has left, and a friendly, supportive colleague has taken her place. The office feels more relaxed, and you receive a message that all visa issues are resolved. You now feel ready and excited for the 22-country tour, with calm replacing your earlier frustrations.
Theme: Resolution, peace, and support as storms clear.
Ending 4: The Soap Message
As you struggle with the soap, it finally stays still, and you notice a small, hidden message on it: “Trust the journey.” After that, everything falls into place: the semi-private restroom becomes a private one, the green tea assistant turns out to be genuinely kind, and you’re informed of a promotion that includes all-expense-paid training in Europe. You wake up with a sense of encouragement and readiness to take on new challenges.
Theme: Self-trust, transformation, and unexpected rewards.
Ending 5: A Meeting of Minds
After the chaotic restroom experience, you return to the office to find your team, including the new assistant and the Indian colleague, in a meeting room discussing a project for the European trip. Everyone is contributing ideas openly, and the assistant surprises you with her sharp insights. By the end of the meeting, you feel a stronger sense of camaraderie and purpose. As you step out, the storm has cleared, and you notice a beautiful rainbow outside the office window.
Theme: Team cohesion, unexpected collaboration, and newfound optimism.
Ending 6: A Journey Within
Back at your desk, as you stare at the soap that slipped away, you realize it’s now crystal clear—almost like glass. Through it, you see images of yourself traveling across European landscapes, confidently handling each situation. It dawns on you that each frustrating event has prepared you for this adventure. You wake up feeling ready to take on anything, with the clarity and wisdom gained from each small trial.
Theme: Self-discovery, growth, and inner strength for future challenges.
Each ending shifts the dream’s focus toward different emotional resolutions or new beginnings, symbolizing variations in how you might feel about handling current challenges or opening yourself to new experiences.
This dream seems to reflect themes of frustration, persistence, unexpected obstacles, and interactions with people in complex social environments—particularly at work. Here’s a closer look at some of the main elements:
1. The Buses and Waiting
Symbolism of Missing Buses: The repeated experience of watching buses drive away just as you and others approach could represent feelings of being overlooked or missed opportunities. You may feel like things you’ve worked toward are just out of reach, especially if you feel others are "close" to achieving their goals around you.
Persistence: Despite these setbacks, you ultimately find the right bus, indicating resilience and the will to persist despite obstacles. This suggests an underlying determination to eventually get what you need.
2. The Stormy Weather
Weather as Emotional Climate: Stormy, typhoon-like rain could signify intense emotions or an overwhelming situation. This might relate to stress at work or feelings of being "weathered down" by ongoing challenges.
Navigating Through: Moving through the downpour to get to the office shows your adaptability and strength in facing difficult conditions.
3. Workplace Encounters and the Green Tea Girl
New Assistant: The character of the assistant who appears to be helpful but isn’t entirely genuine could reflect underlying social dynamics or mistrust in the workplace. You may be handling relationships with people who seem insincere, especially if you’ve been tasked to guide or mentor them despite sensing they may not have the best intentions.
Balancing Generosity and Boundaries: Eating the baguette while explaining things to the assistant may symbolize the balance between sharing knowledge and maintaining boundaries. This part might show a conflict between your desire to be helpful and a need to protect your own knowledge or skills.
4. Rewards and Delayed Gratification
The European Tour and Visa Issues: Being eligible for a company reward trip but receiving a regular visa while others get expedited ones may symbolize feelings of inequality or bureaucracy interfering with well-earned rewards. It could point to a sense that you are held back by external factors or slow processes, even when you’ve done everything right.
5. Restroom and Privacy Issues
Semi-Private Restroom: The uncomfortable, semi-private restroom with half-walls around it suggests vulnerability, especially in front of colleagues. It might reflect anxiety about being exposed in some way at work, where others can see your struggles or moments of weakness.
Soap Slipping Away: The bar of soap slipping repeatedly out of your grasp can symbolize a recurring frustration with trying to "clean up" a situation or maintain control over something slippery or elusive.
6. The Indian Colleague and Teamwork
Strong Impression of the Colleague: The Indian woman in business attire could represent someone who stands out in your work setting, perhaps as a dependable or intriguing team member. This may also symbolize a new, diverse perspective in your professional life or a desire to connect with people who bring unique qualities to the team.
Overall Interpretation
This dream suggests a work environment with complex social interactions, some frustrating obstacles, and situations where your resilience and adaptability are tested. There’s a sense of striving for recognition or fair treatment in the workplace, along with a desire to balance collaboration with maintaining personal boundaries. It reflects both your ability to handle unpredictable challenges and a need for more stability and support in a professional setting.
