This dream seems to be a continuation of the "European performance tour."
In the dream, a group of dancers gathered, trying to figure out how to reach the performance venue. I asked a security guard for directions, and he led us, but I felt like he didn’t really know the way and was just wandering around. I thought, “What if we get lost like this?” Eventually, we arrived at a plaza.
The security guard suddenly mentioned there was a restroom ahead and told us to go while he figured out the way. The group went to the restroom, and I stood next to the guard, feeling uneasy, thinking, “Oh no, he really doesn’t know the way. What should we do?” After wandering around the plaza and seeing some signs, the guard seemed to remember the route.
Once everyone returned from the restroom, the security guard led us again. We walked in circles and finally reached the middle of the plaza, where there was a spiral staircase leading downward. We followed him down the stairs, and as we turned, I realized this staircase felt right because someone had mentioned earlier that we would need to take a spiral staircase and turn twice to get there. Since the path matched what I had heard, we continued to follow him.
The scene shifted, and we arrived at a theater. I ran to the front of the stage to watch a performance. I saw Claire Foy, the lead actress from Netflix's *The Crown*, performing in a musical. She was singing, dancing, and playing the violin, and she noticed me.
Then I returned to our seats, feeling puzzled. I thought we were here to perform, but it seemed we were here to watch a show. To make matters worse, our seats were in the back row, in a corner. I thought, “It’s hard to see from here. We should be sitting in the front, especially since we arrived so early.” However, as more people filled the venue, it didn’t seem like a good idea to switch seats. I thought, “Fine, we’re at the back, so at least I can stand up to watch the show without blocking anyone.”
After the performance, the host asked all the actors to sit in a row for interviews. Eventually, the host asked everyone to sing a song. When the microphone reached Claire Foy, she sang a few lines and passed it to the person next to her. This person was shy and didn’t want to sing, so he passed the microphone further back. The audience encouraged him to sing a few lines, so he reluctantly took the microphone back, sang a little, and then passed it on.
I thought the person sang well and didn’t need to be so shy. I overheard one of our group members saying, “If they can get on stage singing like that, I sing better, so I could go up there too.”
The scene shifted again, and we arrived at a government official’s office. The official asked us about the purpose of our visit, and I spoke on behalf of the group. As I talked, it became clear that we were in Europe promoting Taiwanese tourism. The official seemed very interested in our topic.
I happened to have a small card in my hand that mentioned how convenient Taiwan’s transportation system is. The official specifically asked what it meant, and a man next to me was asked to explain in English. He hesitated and gave a scattered explanation, so I took over. I explained to the official in English that Taiwan has an excellent public transportation system, renowned worldwide. I said that even if it’s your first time in Taiwan, it’s easy to get around using public transport, and not just in Taipei—the whole country is accessible.
I added that our current trip was an example of using public transportation. (At this point, it felt like we were back in Taiwan.) I mentioned that I originally thought about driving, but in the end, I chose public transport because our purpose was to promote its convenience. It would’ve been embarrassing to drive instead.
I said, “We came from Taipei, and the Taipei MRT system is so convenient. You don’t need to drive—you can take the MRT to the outskirts for fun. For example, we took the MRT and transferred to a train to come to this suburb to watch a performance.”
Another minister came to ask questions. I mentioned that Taiwan has many famous products, and I started introducing the agricultural goods we brought. The minister pointed at one item and asked what it was. I said it was dried fruit. He asked, “What kind of dried food?” I replied, “Dried fruit.”
I explained that Taiwan is famous for its fruit, and when there’s an overproduction, we turn it into dried fruit to promote the agricultural products abroad.
The minister expressed relief, saying it was good I explained it clearly, or they would have sent out the wrong information in a press release.
I remember that I gave the entire presentation in English.
這個夢好像是前面「歐洲表演之旅」的延續。
我們一群舞者集合,想說要如何到我們的表演地點。我看到一個警衛向他問路,他要我們跟著他走。可是我覺得他好像也不是很懂路,帶著我們亂繞。我心想:「怎麼辦?這樣亂繞會不會就迷路了?」後來我們來到一個廣場。
這個警衛大叔突然說,前面有廁所,叫我們先去上廁所,他先想一想路。團員們去上廁所。我站在大叔旁邊,心想:「糟糕!他好像其實不認識路,這下子怎麼辦?」後來他在廣場這邊繞,看到一些指示,他覺得他好像記得路了。
後來團員上完廁所回來,警衛大叔要我們跟著他走。然後繞啊繞,來到廣場中間,有個往下的旋轉樓梯,我們跟著他往下走。繼續轉啊轉,我覺得這個樓梯是對的,因為好像有人跟我說,到了這邊之後,我們要走一個旋轉樓梯,轉兩個彎這樣子走。現在走的路跟我聽到的吻合,所以我們就繼續跟著警衛大叔走。
場景切換到我們來到劇場,我跑到台前看表演。我看到 Netflix 王冠 (The Crown) 的女主角 Claire Foy 在台上表演歌舞劇。她一邊唱,一邊跳,還拉著小提琴。她看到我。
然後我回到我們的座位。我有點納悶,我以為我們是來表演,怎麼變成來看表演。而且還把我們座位安排在最後一排的角落。我心想:「這樣子看都看不清楚。我們應該要坐前面啊!而且我們這麼早就來了。」不過現在人越來越多,也不好換位子。我想說算了,我們在後面,這樣我就可以站起來看表演,也不怕擋到人。
表演結束後,主持人讓所有演員坐成一排,他逐一訪問。訪問到後來,他突然請大家唱歌。我記得麥克風傳到 Claire Foy 的時候,她唱了幾句,就把麥克風傳給她旁邊的人。這個人很害羞,不好意思開口,直接把麥克風往後傳。現場觀眾要求他也要唱幾句啊!他只好把麥克風拿回來,唱了幾句,再把麥克風傳給下一個人。
我其實覺得這個人唱得很好啊!他真的不用那麼害羞。此時我聽到團員講:「他們唱那樣子都可以上台,那我唱得比他們好,我也可以上台。」
場景切換到我們一行人來到官員的辦公室。政府官員問我們來這裡的目的。我代表發言,講著講著,就變成我們來歐洲參訪推廣台灣觀光。官員對我們這個題目很感興趣。
剛好我手上有一張小卡片,上面寫說台灣的交通很方便。官員特別問這是什麼意思,請我旁邊的男生用英文解釋。這男生有點愣住了,他解釋得零零落落。我直接接話,我用英文告訴這官員,台灣有非常完整的大眾交通運輸工具,舉世聞名。就是說即使你第一次來到台灣,你也很容易搭乘交通工具,想要去哪裡就去哪裡。而且不只台北,全台灣都很方便。
我繼續說像我們這一次來,就是搭乘大眾交通工具。(這時候變成我們在台灣?) 我說我本來想開車過來,但後來我決定搭乘大眾交通工具。因為我們這次的目的就是在宣導大眾交通工具的方便性,如果我再開車來,就有點落漆。
我說:「我們是從台北來,台北捷運系統就很方便。你不用自己開車,就可以搭捷運到郊區玩。像這次我們來到這個郊區看表演,我們也就是搭捷運轉火車,就到了。」
接下來又換另一個部長來問。我提到台灣有很多名產,接著我就逐一介紹我們這次帶來的農產品。部長指著其中一項農產品,問我那是什麼,我跟他說是水果乾。他問:「什麼乾?」我說:「水果乾。」
我跟他解釋,台灣水果很有名。生產過剩時,我們會做成水果乾,這樣子就可以將農產品推廣出去。
部長驚呼一聲,說還好我有講清楚,不然他們新聞稿就發出去了。
我記得我好像全程都是用英文介紹。
